Ron Williams of Leakey, Texas bred for good structure, big hearts, sound minds, and a tremendous willingness to go the extra mile (or two) if need be. Roux, a twelve year old red and white border collie is one of the best known of Ron's dogs. Appearing on television, radio and performing all across the United States has given Roux a large following.
Starting her herding career at the age of three, her first trial outing was a success, winning High in Trial at an ASCA trial. She quickly became indespensible as a ranch hand. Dabbling in agility and flyball, Joy and Roux qualified for the USDAA Nationals in their second show, and achieved the FDCh in just a couple weekends. Because of advancing arthritis, Roux was retired from agility in 1999.
Always a showoff, Roux became a member of the International Superdog Team in 1996 and Joy got to tag along to carry all the luggage. Performing in front of 20,000 screaming people was just another day at the office for the dog and handler team.
When Joy hung her shingle out as a herding trainer, Roux became the sole member of the staff. Roux made those first few lessons easy by always providing backup and fixing any mistakes that students made with their dogs. Picking up the trial circuit again, HX, ATDsd , STDc, and HTDIII came in rapid succession. Roux was listed that year in the top ten herding dog lists put out by BCSA.

The most important aquisition to the crew is a dog from far west Texas, out California way. His name, Short Fuse , is certainly the antipathy of his style. A striking red tri with a white lightening bolt down his shoulder, the dog works with quiet determination and deep thought. His commanding presence on sheep started at the tender age of 14 weeks, with the young dog never taking a misstep. A very serious worker, Fuse is a clown away from stock. Even though sidelined for two months with a major shoulder injury, Fuse and Joy have made their presence known in several herding venues. While excelling in USBCHA, Fuse and Joy qualified for the 2002 USBCHA Nursery Dog National Championships. Fuse is a winner at the Bluebonnet Classic, The Cowboy Classic, The Fort Worth Stock Show, The Houston Stock Show, The Spring Fling, and multiple other trials. This team is undefeated in AHBA and has Championships in both AHBA and AKC herding.

The Crew's Baby Faye , is a dog of a different color. Young, impetuous, black tri, and always busy, Baby Faye is doing what Roux Crew dogs do best, herding. Turning on to sheep at 15 weeks, she has no fear and gives as good as she gets. At 9 months of age she wowed the crowds at her first ASCA trial, winning several big classes under very muddy conditions. At the tender age of 15 months she has acquired her ASCA Open title on sheep and ducks and an HTDIII, HRDIII, and one Ch. point in AHBA. She now is 3 points from her AKC herding Championsip, has her AHBA Champioship and is trialing USBCHA in Open. She has been bred to Fuse and the puppies are already showing tremndous ability.

Fizz Bang is a half sister to Fuse, on her sire's side. This impetuous dog already shows great potential to be an Open dog. She is shown by Evan Sebastian, a teenager who has piloted her to wins at the HLSR, the State Finals, and her AHBA herding Championship. She has one of the best pedigrees that I have ever seen and has been bred to Fuse to continue the Roux Crew tradition of producing winning dogs.

Crush is a Faye X Fuse son that has already distinguished himself in all venues. A young dog capable of handling the roughest cattle as well as the smallest duck, Crush has won multiple awards in ASCA, AKC and AHBA. This talented dog has made a splash in USBCHA, making the Nursery Finals in Gettysburg, PA.

Sneak, a Fuse X Powder Keg son, is Evan's other main trial dog. Sneak has excelled under Evan's training, winning in all venues. With multiple HIT's in both ASCA and AKC, Sneak and Evan are the team to beat at a trial. Evan has piloted this nice red dog to his AHBA Championship and Advanced titles in AKC and ASCA. They are consistent money earners in USBCHA, having qualified and done well at the TSDA State Finals for the last three years competing against all adults.

Waiting in the wings are Spit and Lite, two young females with grit and style. Look for these talented pups in the trials this coming year.

The next chapter is currently being written for the Roux Crew. All our dogs are OFA'd, BAER'd, and are DNA tested for CEA. We have tremendous confidence in the bloodlines, herding ability and the health of our breeding stock. Two litters have gone to performance homes and are already excelling. With them go the traditions of the Roux Crew, producing top flight dogs that combine beauty, soundness, brains and talent.
