Note: One must remember that everyone is not enamored of AKC herding and what they feel AKC has done to the various herding breeds by breeding strictly for conformation. Also, not everyone is open minded to the fact that dogs other than their breed can and do herd stock.

AHBA - All Herding Breed Association. Has both test and trial levels. Trials are based on USBCHA.

AKC - The newest entrant into herding tests and trials. They use a combination of designs and rules from ASCA, AHBA and USBCHA.

ASCA - The Australian Shepherd Club of America. They offer trials only.

TSDA - The Texas Sheepdog Association. A part of USBCHA, they offer trialing in Texas.

USBCHA - The United States Border Collie Herding Association.

ISDS - International Sheep Dog Society
