Houston Area Herding Association
The club was formed in 2000 by a group of herding enthusiasts who desired to promote the training of purebred dogs in herding; to disseminate knowledge regarding herding training; to conduct classes for the training of dogs and their handlers; to encourage the training of judges; to hold and support herding tests and trials and matches under the rules and regulations of the AKC, AHBA, USBCHA, ASCA and other organizations; and to promote cooperation and good sportsmanship among its members in the training and exhibition of dogs. With that said, we are a group of people who love dogs and the sport of herding, whether it is watching, talking, or participating. Many of our members trial, many choose not to trial. All enjoy the thrill of watching a good dog work. The HAHA's (yes, you read that right) have fun days, parties, clinics, and many more great activities to promote herding. We put on our first AKC match last fall, an AHBA test and trial this fall, and an AKC trial in November. We will host several clinics with well known trainers, and will continue the tradition of holiday fun herding days.We now have a fun discussion group on the web for information, brags and chat. Check out the site for more information about joining this chat group.
Join us, won't you??
